CutYears is a set of free calculators that show their working. By using the site you agree to the terms below. They are short because the product is simple: you type in your own figures, the calculation runs in your browser, and you decide what to do with the result.
Information, not advice
The calculators and guides are informational tools. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is an offer of credit or a recommendation to take, keep, repay or switch any financial product. We do not know your full circumstances, and a calculator cannot weigh them for you. If a decision matters, check it with your lender and, where appropriate, a qualified adviser.
Figures are estimates
Every result is computed from the inputs you enter and the rules set out on the methodology page. Your lender's figures may differ — they may round at different points, count days differently, apply charges we do not know about, or change your rate. Treat a figure here as an estimate to check against your lender's statement, not as a quotation. Tax and regulatory statements are dated where they appear; rules change, and a dated statement can go out of date.
Your decisions are yours
You are responsible for the figures you enter and for any decision you make using a result. Before acting on one, confirm the numbers that matter with the organisation that will actually charge or pay them.
No warranty, and limits on liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it accurate and publish how it works so it can be checked, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors, complete, or available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its results. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your data stays on your device
The calculations run in your browser, and the figures you type are not sent to us. What is stored, where, and what reaches our server is described on the privacy page.
Using our content
The text, calculators, design and code on this site belong to its publisher.
- You are welcome to link to any page, and to quote short passages with attribution and a link back.
- Search engines and answer engines may crawl and cite pages as our robots.txt allows.
- Please do not copy, scrape or republish the calculators or substantial parts of the content wholesale, or present them as your own.
- Please do not use automated tools in a way that degrades the site for other people.
Links to other sites
Guides link to regulators, statutes and other sources so you can check what we say. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is a citation, not an endorsement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, the date below changes with them. Using the site after an update means you accept the updated terms.

Not yet stated: who publishes this, and which law applies
The legal entity that publishes CutYears and the law that governs these terms are not published yet. We would rather say that plainly than invent a company name or a jurisdiction. This page will name both, and its date will change, when they are in place. The contact address above is real and read.
